Tiny Free House

I was looking for lumber but ran across this post on craigslist for 50 pounds of nails for $5. It’s really amazing what there is to find on craigslist. Most of it goes really fast, at least here in Sacramento, but there’s always something and sometimes you luck out.

And here’s why you need to watch the free stuff on craigslist like a hawk. I emailed them about six hours (the length of a lifetime on craigslist) after they posted these 2x4s on craigslist. I never got a call or email so I assume the lumber is long gone. I’ll just need to be more persistent and observant.

Julia kept a close eye on craigslist today and we got a mini fridge for the tiny free house kitchen and a resellable file cabinet. I think we’ll need to have a garage sale soon, it’s getting kind of cramped in there. Julia also spotted some pallets while we were driving along. She also spotted a big pile of pallets behind a fence in a commercial construction site. Tomorrow I’ll run over in the morning and see if they’ll let me have them. I didn’t get much pallet prep done this weekend but I did launch a new pallet house website. tinypallethouse.com
